HOW THE BOOK “DIVINE POWER OF LOVE” WAS BORN AND HOW IT TOOK SHAPE

OF P.DAVID DE ANGELIS

We want to answer the question: how the book was born or took shape?
In December 1963, for the first time, the “Voice” the Soul said she heard, provoked in her a deep surprise and inevitably caused an alarm to her spiritual Director. He ordered the Soul to write down the essential aspects of what happened in her spirit, mostly what concerned the “Voice”, so that everything might be better remembered and judged with calm in front of God. Thus in a space of twelve years, until 1975, so many manuscripts piled up that they form a volume of 500 pages.
The Soul took never care of these writings she had handed, because she estimated them of no value and so she thought they were being destroyed as she handed them.
On the other hand, her spiritual director took care not to make her believe that he gave much importance to these writings. They were never subject to an examination or a discussion. Even the matter they deal with was never directly appreciated during the meetings with the Poor Soul. If they mentioned them, it was in a really incidental manner.
Nevertheless the Soul unfailingly went on handing the pages whenever she had something to reveal and an opportunity was offered, in no way she worried to know if they were taken seriously or not. It even happened that a number of them, containing things of great importance, were handed much later.
Her blind obedience has accomplished the miracle which allowed us to dispose now of so many precious pages containing the great Message on the Holy Spirit.
The Soul has not retained anything for herself of what she has written: she has retained no note, nor duplicate.
The book “Divine Power of Love” contains the main part of this Message which has alredy reaped, and keeps reaping, so many good fruits.
When the time came to publish it, it was right and proper to seek the advice of the Soul and get her approbation. Her surprise was great when she learned that her writings had been kept. And she was astonished when she was told that they were going to be published for the benefit of souls. After a few moments of silence she simply said in a weak voice: “If it is for the good of souls…”.
The Soul now knows that the book, containing some of her writings, is in the hands of the public, but she ignores what it contains nor does she know the title.
As soon as the first edition was published, the book was, to tell the truth, presented to her so she could see it, examine it, but she gave it only a quick glance without showing any interest. She didn’t even want to take it in her hands.
Let us add that the Poor Soul not only doesn’t know the book of which she is the authentic author, but she neither knows the different articles published to comment on it. You can be sure that if, by chance, they would fall in her hands, she wouldn’t read them, so much detached is she and so trifling are they for her, who must live in retirement and oblation of herself.
These considerations and reflections have been offered to the readers of the book Divine Power of Love, so as to give them a clearer and well-founded basis of seriousness and credibility, so that they, reading and meditating, may get more spiritual fruits for the benefit of their souls.
Thus, as we have seen, the reasons for credibility are serious and well rooted, from the simple fact that the Poor Soul has never taken any pride for what the Lord Jesus revealed to her; on the contrary she feared to be deceived by her imagination or by devilish tricks. As for its content there’s no reason for doubt or incertitude since the thought is simple, expressed in a sustained tone, mostly orthodox.
But why has the book been published twelve years after the beginning of the revelations? It was for prudence’s sake and caution, in the sense that we needed time to give to the book itself a kind of ripeness.
We must confess though, that the book would have been still more delayed to come to light, had not the voice of Jesus obliged us, with insistance, that the temple be constructed: “The construction of the temple should be undertaken” did He repeat: “Do build, and rapidly, a worthy home for the Holy Spirit”. Hadn’t we made the desire of Jesus known, who would ever believe in the opportuneness of building a temple to the Holy Spirit?
